Saint Ambrose School
Saint Ambrose School does not discriminate against any race, color, national or ethnic origin. All
students have rights to the privileges, programs, and activities offered by Saint Ambrose School.
ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS:
Saint Ambrose School is a parish school. As such, priority for admission is given to members of
the parish who meet the admission guidelines and who follow the steps required for admission. It
is expected that members of the parish will participate fully in the life of the church through
regular attendance and through active stewardship of time, talent, and treasure.
1. Time and Talent: Parents are active and involved in parish life
Such as committees, programs, volunteer activities, adult religious education
programs, sacramental preparation, coaching, and other areas where adults are active.
2. Treasure: Parents are supporters of the parish through Sunday collections on a
regular basis using envelopes. Parents are appropriately supporting the church
through Diocesan campaigns, direct contributions, contributions to Fruitful Harvest, paid subscription to THE CATHOLIC MOMENT.
3. Each parishioner's donation of time, talent, and treasure will be reviewed on a
regular basis. Those not participating in any way will be required to pay additional
tuition.
Admission by parishioners of our parish is limited to families who are registered in Saint Ambrose
Parish and are raising their children in the Catholic faith. i.e. Faithful and consistent spiritual and
financial support of families using or intending to use Saint Ambrose School, both past and
present, is expected. Members of Saint Ambrose Church are expected to be active parishioners
as determined by the pastor.
To enter Pre-Kindergarten - 3 year-old class: Age 3 by August 1sstt
To enter Pre-Kindergarten - 4 year-old class: Age 4 by August 1st
To enter Kindergarten -- Age 5 by August 1
Pastor, Principal and parish Administrative Assistant may collaborate regarding admissions
decisions.
The following order for admission preference will be utilized:
1. Current students of Saint Ambrose School, Catholic and non-Catholic
2. Catholic Saint Ambrose siblings of students attending our parish school as of the
current year
3. Students who are Catholic siblings of graduates of Saint Ambrose School
4. Children of parishioners in good standing entering school for the first time
5. Catholic children from area parishes not having a school. (NOTE: A letter of
recommendation is required from the pastor of the parent/guardian's home parish.
These families will be charged parishioner rates.
6. Non-Catholic siblings of current Saint Ambrose students.
7. Non-Catholics
All students must be registered prior to their first day of school or enrollment will be
delayed until all paperwork is in order.
Due to the economy and the financial status of our parish, scholarship awards will be
made only to the members of Saint Ambrose Church. The school will be more than happy
to work with families to accept payments on a twelve-month basis, rather than ten if this
would be helpful.
The registration packet requires, but is not limited to, the following information:
1. Application for enrollment
2. Registration fee
3. Baptismal certificate (if baptized in parish other than St. Ambrose)
4. Birth certificate
5 .Health history
6. Record of immunization
7. Financial Agreement Form
8. Records from previous school (K-6)
9. Emergency contact forms
SCREENINGS:
All students are screened prior to enrollment

Students enrolling in Preschool, Kindergarten, and new students for First Grade are given a formal screening.

Students enrolling in Grades Two through Six are screened informally.
There is no charge for these screenings. -
INTERVIEWS are conducted with the student's parents/guardians prior to enrollment.
The principal finalizes all admissions, re-admissions and withdrawals during the school year.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
• All school families are expected to participate in the SCRIP PROGRAM which was
initiated to aid families with tuition and the school with expenses. Therefore, the
minimum amount asked of each family is $50.00 tuition relief (or scholarship
contribution). If a family chooses not to participate a fee of $100.00 will be charged -
50% of that amount will go to scholarship and the other 50% will go toward school
expenses. Please remember that you can always adopt a family if you choose your
earnings to go to someone else.
• All families are reminded that if tuition for the present school year remains unpaid,
enrollment will not be extended for the following year. There will be no exceptions.
- Families participating in the Voucher or Scholarship Granting Organization and/or
Scholarships granted through Saint Ambrose Parish are required and expected to adhere
to the same rules as all. SGO parents are reminded that regular payments must be
received on their tuition accounts and all paperwork must be in order.
