11-2-11 Parent Club Meeting Minutes
The November Parent Club Meeting was held on November 2nd, at 6:30 pm in the school library. Those in attendance included: Ronda Osenbaugh (President), Melissa Hamilton (Treasurer), Donna Hawes (Vice President), JoAnn Verdin (Secretary), Stan Warner (Principal), Amie Ballinger, Charlie and Angela Sims, Alison Cage, Brenda Pence, John Lamper and Darla Mountcastle.
Items discussed are as follows:
1. Old Business:
Nothing to discuss
2. Treasurer's Report:
A. The Parent Club Account beginning balance was $2475.58. After deducting a few thank you gifts and adding sales from the used uniform sale, the ending balance is $2512.58.
3. Upcoming/Current Events:
A. Pizza Man fundraiser. We had about 54 families participate and combined we sold 497 items. Product will be delivered November 10th. Please plan to pick up your order on that day. Product MUST be picked up on the 10th as we will have no room to store these frozen items. We will also need help organizing the pickup. Any one willing to help, please call Jennifer Ade 765-208-6050.
B. Spirit Wear. Order forms went home this week. Sample sizes will be available at school. Orders must be placed by 11/18. Money needs to be paid when the order is placed. We will also be needing parents to help sell shirts after mass. Ronda will be helping on Saturday 11/5 & 11/12. Mr Warner and JoAnn Verdin will be helping on Sunday 11/6 & 11/13.
C. St Nicks Day will be 12/6. We’re putting together the gift bags. It was decided that 5th and 6th grade will receive the prayer coins and the remaining grades will get the prayer cards. Ronda will be looking into getting some pencils, candy etc.
D. Santa Shop will be December 12th thru the 16th. It will be set up in the room next to the stage. Volunteers to run the shop will be sought closer to the date.
E. Christmas Party will be December 23rd. Ideas were discussed to “freshen up” the party. Possible doing a cake walk, hot potato game, and a craft station. More details will be finalized at the December meeting. Parents interested in helping are encouraged to attend that meeting.
4. Principal's Report:
A. Parents social was a big success. We will look doing that again sometime in the future. Again, thanks go out to the Warner’s and the Sims for coordinating that event.
B. There will be a Veteran’s Day program on November 11th. Mr. Warner is asking that everyone please turn in names of Veterans that you would like to have recognized. He’s also looking for any Veterans who would be willing to be guest speakers on this day and speak of their experience. Please send any names to Mr. Warner as soon as possible.
C. Grandparents Day will be November 16th. Jennifer Brandon will be coordinating events for this day.
D. A note went home regarding the hot lunch program we have with ACS. We are in jeopardy of losing our contract to serve these hot meals at our school. Mr. Warner has been working with ACS to add a 3rd option. The options to the entrée would then be PBJ, PBO and a hamburger. They’re also looking at what lunch options are the least favorites and seeing about maybe exchanging those with more of the favorite ones. Regardless, we need to promote this to everyone and stress the importance of the program. At this rate, we aren’t even covering the wages of the lunch staff.
5. New Business/Open Discussion
A. The Auction will be April 28th. Ronda sent out the survey for solicitors and sadly only received 5 responses. That means we have approximately 65 families who have still not responded. Another form will be going home soon. WE NEED EVERYONE TO SEND ONE BACK. This auction will not be successful if only 5 families participate in the planning. Contract for Rangeline Community center has been signed and turned in. We are still in need of a caterer for the event. A few options are out there but we need pricing information to make a final decision. Please bring any info obtained to the next meeting.
The next Parent Club Meeting will take place on December 7th at 6:30 pm in the school library. See you there!
